FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the warranty for your tools?
A: The warranty is 1 (one) year against defects in manufacture. It needs to be said that Perfecto Products tools are built of sturdy materials, but they are not indestructible. Abuse of the tool that results in breakage or distortion of the raw materials does not constitute a manufacturing defect.

Q: What do I do with a tool that has broken?
A: You can return it to the wholesaler, or directly to Perfecto Products. In either case, Perfecto Products reserves the right to examine the tool to determine if the breakage is due to manufacturing or abuse.

Q: Can you use the HydroDrill for digging wells?
A: No. The HydroDrill is designed to cut underneath sidewalks, driveways, landscaping in a horizontal direction. The HydroDrill also does not evacuate the dirt out of the hole behind it. It acts more like a mole than a gopher.

Q: The HydroDrill is supposed to fit in a 1/2″ drill chuck. Mine doesn’t fit into my drill. What do I do?
A: While most 1/2″ drills will accommodate the 1/2″ hex end of the HydroDrill, we have had a few users call in with this problem. We can only guess that the tolerances of the chuck or the hex bar are just slightly out of whack. Take a file or an electric grinder and knock off a small bit along the edges of the hex. It does not take much to make the two fit.

Q: Can I get repair parts for the HydroDrill?
A: Yes. The shaft (1505-5S) and the chuck adaptor (1505-50) are the easiest items to replace. If the seals (1505-S) need to be replaced, you must have access to a press.

Q: What are the attachments for the HydroDrill to the pipe and augers?
A: All attachments are 3/4″ Pipe (NPT) A threaded coupling (not supplied) may be necessary to make the attachment.

Q: What is the Ground Wire for in the HydroDrill box?
A: You’re going to be working with water and electricity. We provide the ground wire to help prevent the two from causing problems.

Q: How wide will the wrench head on the Right Angle Wrench open?
A: The wrench head for the Right Angle Wrench is patterned after a 14″ pipe wrench. It will open to the width of 2″ pipe (IPS)

Q: Do you make the Right Angle Wrench with a larger Head?
A: No. The 14″ wrench head is the only head available.

Q: If I lose any of the pieces in the Right Angle Wrench set, can I get replacements?
A: Yes. All of the pieces in the Right Angle Wrench set are available individually, including the carrying case.

Q: What is the difference between a McMannus wrench and the Right Angle Wrench?
A: Nothing. McMannus is the name of an old tool that is not available anymore. People use the name McMannus out of habit.

Q: What is the “Crush Resistant Pipe Plug” to be used for?
A: The most common waste line size is 1-1/2″ pipe (IPS). The Crush Resistant Pipe Plug is meant to be installed into the 1-1/2″ pipe nipple, to keep the metal pipe from distorting when the user applies torque to the Right Angle Wrench on the pipe.

Q: What is the difference between the 1701-CPW and the 1701-CPX?
A: The 1701-CPX has a 17″ T-Handle driver to turn the wrenches. The 1701-CPW does not have the T-Handle. If you already have a Right Angle Wrench, you do not need the 17″ T-Handle. The T-handle and extension included in the Right Angle Wrench set will work with the Clean Out Plug Wrenches.

Q: What is the hole size for the Clean Out Plug Wrenches?
A: 3/4″ Square. (This is the common size for the Right Angle Wrench head, the Sloan Tailpiece Tool, the Spud Nut Wrenches, and other tools.)

Q: Can I use an Impact Wrench (or Hammer Drill) on the Clean Out Plug Wrenches?

A: No.  The welds are not designed to take that kind of use.

Q: Can I get replacement parts for the Clean Out Plug Wrench set?
A: Yes. All of the pieces in the Clean Out Plug Wrench set are available individually, including the carrying case.

Q: Can I get the Clean Out Plug Wrenches individually?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I get the Clean Out Plug Wrench set without the box?
A: Yes. The part numbers are 1701-CPW-B for a kit without the T-Handle, and the 1701-CPX-B includes the T-Handle.

Q: Do you have a Clean Out Plug Wrench for a Hex raised head?
A: No. The hex head plug we are familiar with can be removed with a 1-5/16″ socket, available in any industrial hardware store (3/4″ Drive)

Q: I see a part number 1701-SSW #12 on the website. What is this, and why isn’t it included in your kit?
A: This is a special order slotted head wrench that is 1/4″ x 2-1/2″. It is for a 6″ slotted head clean out plug. We do not include it in any of the kits, because the 6″ plug is fairly rare, and would increase the cost of the kits unnecessarily.

Q: Can I get a set of Clean Out Plug Wrenches included in a Right Angle Wrench set?
A: Yes. The part number is 1700-DWP.

Q: Will the Sloan Tailpiece Tool fit other manufacturers equipment?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I buy individual Spud Nut Wrenches?
A: Yes.

Q: Will the Heavy Duty Water Meter Key work on domestic water meters?
A: As long as the key on the water meter will fit inside the 7/8″ slot on the meter key head, it should work fine. We do have a meter key whose head has double slots, 7/8″ and 5/8″ wide. That part number is 1602-MKH

Q: Do you make water meter keys with smaller slots in the head?
A: No. We do have a meter key whose head has double slots, 7/8″ and 5/8″ wide. That part number is 1602-MKH

Q: Do you have a City Meter Key that is longer than 5 ft?
A: We are currently working on a telescoping City Meter Key that will expand from 5 ft to about 8 ft. This is not currently available.

Q: Does your Flanging Tool work on 1-1/4″ and 1-1/2″ tubing?
A: No. You have to but separate tools for each size.

Q: Does the plastic handle on your Tile Probes prevent electric shock?
A: No. The plastic handle does not cover all of the metal surfaces. You must wear safety gloves to prevent the possibility of electric shock.

Q: What are the sizes for your ABS Adaptors?
A: The 7000-ABS adapts a 3-1/2″ NST (National Standard) thread, (the same as a 3-1/2″ Pipe plug) to 3″ IPS Pipe. This is a common size found on a 4″ Iron Body clean out. The 7000-ABS2 adapts a 2-1/2″ NST thread, (the same as a 2-1/2″ Pipe Plug) to 2″ IPS Pipe. This is a common size found on a 3″ Iron Body clean out.
